Round Pin Sockets are usually used on low level lighting circuits. If you wanted to switch table lamps or floor lamps from a regular light switch you would install the switch into the circuit containing these round pin sockets. The advantages are that you can control any number of table and floor lamps from a single switch rather than having to individually switch every one on/off. The other neat idea is that you can then install a dimmer switch to control the table lamp circuit as they do most commonly in hotels. The reason round pins are used is that it stops you from plugging a regular 13amp plug into the circuit and stops the risk of circuit overload. We recommend 25mm deep wall boxes for mounting our sockets or 35mm deep wall boxes for shallow or flat plate Sockets. |

Never know you could get these together in one until found them here. We now have the ceiling lights on the dimmer and the patio light on a normal switch. Got rid of one switch box altogether making the room look better.
